Hello everyone!  Before we being the mambo, I'd like to take a moment and thank Friday (who wrote the previous post) for all her help in getting me set up to do these memes.  When she posted after Hurricane Katrina and asked someone to help her run this site, I answered the call.  I couldn't stand to see this site die out because the Mambo and Mind Hump gave me such joy, the same joy each of you get when you do them.  So thanks, Friday, for giving me this opportunity and making such a great site to begin with!

Hello Y'all --

Since August 2005 when Mr. Man and myself lost everything to Hurricane Katrina I have been unable to fulfill my duties here at BDI.  First there was the evacuation and then the very difficult struggle to return home.  When we did return home we were in a temporary residence with other family living with us.  It was a difficult fifteen months before we were able to move back into our home.  I thought that once we were settled back home I would be able to return to BDI to help rfduck with the memes and the upkeep of the BDI blog.  Unfortunately, Mr. Man has been ill since May of 2006.  This means that I have the responsibility of handling our life.  It's for that reason that it's very difficult for me to devote the time that would be required of me to do BDI justice.

I have long pondered shutting BDI down.  I didn't want to do that so since rfduck has been handling the memes -- and magnificently, I might add -- I asked him if he would like to take over BDI.  He has consented to do so.  Hopefully I'll be able to help out with the layout from time to time.

The only major change will be the suspension of accepting any new members.  I am unable to access the membership adminstrative pages in order to accept new members or edit the membership pages in any way at all.  Therefore, our new membership policy will be, "You're a member if you say you are."  Just choose a code, place it on your blog.  If you want other members to visit your blog just participate in the memes and tag the tagboard now and then.

I guess that's it.  I thank rfduck for all his help and I'm officially handing BDI over to him lock, stock and barrel.  I'm sure if he needs any help he'll ask you crazy members to toss your straight jackets in the ring.

It's been wonderful being crazy with y'all.
